Terraria or Minecraft?
IMO Terraria has much better gameplay, as I prefer the adventuring vibe to the purely sandbox vibe. Also, I am morally opposed to anything written in Java

Never played Minecraft, but I found Terraria incredibly boring.

I'm in the same boat. The problem is if you start playing them, you may never stop.gamer0004 wrote:I seem to be the only one who has played neither.
Growing old is inevitable.......Growing up is optional
Re: Terraria or Minecraft?
Terraria for multiplayer, Minecraft for solo.
Terraria has those bosses and more things to craft. It is easier to start playing and relies on combat and exploring.
Minecraft is more like an lego building, but it also has very complicated stuff for older players, like building machines from redstone and pistons.
I enjoy both, but they are quite different games.
I think I have played minecraft more still and it would be my choice.
Redstone circuits are fun to play with, you just need tons of repeaters and basic knowledge of electrical circuits (like logic gates, relays, diodes and latches).

Re: Terraria or Minecraft?
Since GMOD is slightly similar it should be thrown in the mix.
Terraria, Minecraft, or GMOD?

Minecraft. Terraria was fun for a while until I had endgame tier stuff, then it was boring. >_>
I prefer Minecraft due to the 3D aspect on top of the epic structures.

Paul, I know you said no phone messages, but South Street's going up in smoke. We'll have to meet at the subway station.

Re: Terraria or Minecraft?
Minecraft all the way, its a dungeon crawler with sandbox construction and multiplayer, what more could you want?!
Its heading for full release in November.

Minecraft.
Scoping out a new piece of land with some friends? that's thoroughly enjoyable. I'm done with the singleplayer aspect, but on a server with several people, minecraft is absolutely fantastic.
I get the appeal of terraria, and I have played both games, but terraria needs multiplayer even more, and at its core, the gameplay is really pretty dumb. Your ability to create is also strongly limited by comparison.
