Well you would, you're a foreigner.
*runs away*
But seriously, social networking sites should point out in BIG LETTERS that, perhaps unsurprisingly, people like "prospective employers" check you out prior to interview. Hell, often even during your employment (like the guy who got time off work to go to his grandma's funeral, and then posted on facebook about the WILD WILD PARTAY he actually needed time off for, and then was surprised when his boss asked him how the party went..before fining/firing him, presumably).
So yeah, be careful what you post online. Some of these people can even use online info to track you down, buy you beer and then crash on your couch. You have been warned.

You are silly.Jonas wrote:And seriously:You need to stop saying that. I find it pretty fucking annoying, if not outright offensive.r00tb33r wrote:For all you foreigners
If you had seen this more than once, then I most likely imply something by it. Ever heard of sarcasm?
I have a personal dilemma, most of people on this forum are foreign to me, but I myself am a foreigner to my country.
That's right, I've only lived where I live only the lesser half of my life.
So when I'm self criticizing like this, it probably means that I really didn't know what a "twat" was just a few years ago. In English at least.
So don't be silly, cause silliness ain't too far from stupidity.
Re: Twatter? Twotter? Twitter!
You know what stupidity is? One thing it is, is not being very very careful with sarcasm - especially in writing. Forgive me for not picking up on the tone of your voice in a medium where your voice is largely absent. And remember for the future that when you're employing sarcasm on the Internet, it needs to be a damn sight more obvious than that.r00tb33r wrote:So don't be silly, cause silliness ain't too far from stupidity.
And I do not appreciate being patronized - sarcasm or not.

Re: Twatter? Twotter? Twitter!
Where I am, the word "foreigner" often does have a negative connotation, but can be innocent of that too. r00tb33r is foreign to people outside the USA (and inside he argues as well), but I am foreign to him yet I am not foreign...I don't think the word works on the internet, perspective-wise; lets not use it further.
A first name is generally only useful on forums for identifying that a specific person uses those forums. Not very dangerous, but it adds more potential for data-mining. Still, I find that a little paranoia can compensate for my overly trusting nature

For all your foreigners out there: We don't actually say Eh a lot in Canada.
Unfortunately the hockey bullshit is rampant.
And when using sarcasm on the internet please follow web standards:
<sarcasm>Yeah, that's really going to work.</sarcasm>
As for Twitter? It's a plague upon my IT department, it can go die.
