The Pistol

Post by Phasmatis »

The pistol.

Open to crits for the moment, the visable weapon mods are still being textured hence why the aren't shown on the model.

Bloody amazing! I'm surprised that we're able to cram such nice-looking textures into this fairly old engine. Nice work Phas :D

Very nice. That will look very good in-game. Only problem that I see is the trigger guard. Just does not look right. I would find a pic of a Glock 10mm to look at so I can explain myself, but I am at school now, and they probably won't like that.

The tigger guard is a little exaggerated because of the laser mod.

The laser mod will actually be a torch addon for other game mods to use.

EDIT: I've just tweaked it a little though to make it a little more thinner.

Nice. :)

Only complaint is the back part of the top piece of the model.
It shouldn't be a flat texture :) It should have something like this.
Image rotated of course

The inscriptions look cool.
IMO, it seems a lot curvier than the original pistol, which is good. 8)

Yeah, the way you've faked the 'stamped in' lettering is really, really, really good.

The original pistol was inspired by the glock (the name of the model was "Glock", infact).

We have yet to show off my weapons :(

Perhaps a bit higher contrast for better definition? It might get enough of that simply by import. Anyhow, that's a pretty lookin' tool, mate. Good stuff.

Is it possible to add this detail on your model?

mak:

it would require some remapping -- and even if we somehow managed to cram that onto a 512 map. it would still be blurry as... something really blurry.

as for the pistol itself, it looks very nice -- i'm quite used to stuff people did for the cs engine, which is downright amazing, but this is quite nice for an old engine.
